John Beltran
John Beltran is a foundational figure in ambient electronic music, known for blending cinematic emotion with atmospheric depth. Emerging from Lansing in the early ’90s via forerunner Detroit labels like Retroactive and Sinewave, his lush chilled-out style became a defining voice in ambient techno for the Midwest and beyond. His 1996 epic Ten Days of Blue on Peacefrog Records remains a genre touchstone — a literal blueprint for Detroit’s soulful futurism.
John’s ambient catalog spans labels like Apollo, De:Tuned, Delsin, and the legendary R&S Records, with music featured in Six Feet Under, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and cult tv favorite Human Traffic, underscoring his ridiculously broad artistic scope.
Now, after decades of global acclaim, Beltran will perform his first-ever live set in Detroit at Reset Fest 2025 — a long-overdue homecoming for one of the city’s most quietly influential sonic architects.
